One takeEvery angle

Up to 12 phones.
One take.

Hit record once — every paired phone fires together, frame-locked to the same clock. More angles mean less occlusion, and motion that survives the hardest choreography.

How it worksPair to export

A session in three moves.

From pocket to a paired multi-camera studio in a couple of minutes.

  1. The companion app scanning the pairing QR code on a desktop screen

    Step 01Pair

    Scan once.

Point the app at the QR code in your mimem session. Every phone you scan joins as one more camera.

  2. The recorder framing a performer mid-move in a studio

    Step 02Record

    Real quality in.

Lock it on a tripod and hit record — every phone captures 4K 60fps to its own storage, not a compressed live stream.

  3. The takes list showing recorded and uploaded takes

    Step 03Keep

    Every take, kept.

Takes save on device and upload to your session as you shoot. A dropped connection never costs you a shot.

Step 04Export

Real motion out.

mimem reconstructs the performance from every angle you shot — full body, hands and fingers included — and exports game-ready FBX.

DailiesWhat creators say

“It's astounding how good the animations are, I barely have to clean up the animations — I'd say they look as if they are from optical mocap.

Victor Tan · Independent creator

“Same footage… processed using Move Pro, the $7,000 per year system. And on the right we have Mimem, which is using just three of the six GoPros. They're both really good.”

Charlie Driscoll · YouTube creator, UE5 filmmaker

Frequently Asked Questions

The companion app requires iOS 17 or later, which covers iPhone XS, XR and every model since. Newer phones with better cameras produce higher quality results, but any supported model captures good motion data — a clear view of the subject and good lighting matter more than the phone. If your device is older, you can still record with its native camera app and upload the video to mimem directly.

You can start with just one camera! More cameras improve accuracy:

  • 1 camera: Good for simple movements, walking cycles, and basic animations
  • 2-3 cameras: Great for most use cases
  • 6 cameras: Optimal quality for most professional work
  • 6+ cameras: Recommended for complex movements with lots of occlusion (e.g., martial arts, dance)

Free and Essential plans support up to 3 cameras. Pro plan supports up to 12 cameras. See our pricing page for details, our multi-camera guide for setup instructions, and our camera placement guide to plan where each phone should stand.

QuickMagic is a strong single-camera option, but mimem.ai supports up to 12 cameras for better accuracy on complex moves and occlusion-heavy shots. Reviewers also call out stronger foot stability and less cleanup with mimem.ai. Our daily token model (500/day on Essential) is built for consistent iteration, while QuickMagic uses a monthly token budget.

Yes — a tripod or phone mount is required. Cameras must remain completely stationary during recording. Any camera movement will reduce tracking accuracy. For multi-camera setups, use tripods to keep each camera locked in position. Inexpensive phone tripods work great.

The companion app is optional but recommended for multi-camera setups. It synchronizes multiple iPhones automatically and records 4K 60fps on device. For single-camera captures, you can use your iPhone's native camera app and upload the video directly to our platform.

Good lighting is important for accurate tracking. Natural daylight works great, or use bright indoor lighting. Avoid harsh shadows and backlighting. The subject should be clearly visible with good contrast against the background. See our lighting guide for detailed tips.
